November 21, 2009, at 11:18 pmSince my life has been slowed down somewhat from last year, or even the year before, I’ve had more time to focus on the NFL season this year. And it doesn’t hurt that my team, Indianapolis Colts, have been playing really well, and it gives me joy to see my team win on a week-to-week basis.
And no, I don’t just follow the team because it’s good– my adolescent years in Indy influenced me to it, and in fact, I’ve followed them in the mid-90s when they were really bad.
With my friend, I have been involved in weekly picks against the spread, where you pick the winning team against the spread. Two years ago I think I got 1st or 2nd, and this year with 7 more weeks to go, I am leading that one again. (Knock on wood)
This year I’ve been involved in a NFL fantasy league, which is a first for me. I’ve been doing pretty well in the league, but being a part of this fantasy league motivated me to watch other teams, and it’s been great.
So, I’m looking forward to watching the games in about 14 hours… Yes, spending my Sunday afternoons enjoying watching men push other men in search of a oblong shaped leather hide. It’s sad, but I am proud to watch the games.
